What is it?
➤ also known as chemical abortion, medical abortion, RU-486, or “plan c”
➤ regimen of medication taken to kill & expel a developing baby within 13 weeks of last menstrual period (LMP)
➤ consists of mifepristone (Mifeprex) followed by misoprostol (Cytotec)
➤ different from emergency contraception aka “Plan B” which prevents an egg from releasing
➤ 53% of abortions are done with the abortion pill. In 2020, the abortion pill killed over 865,000 developing babies.
